How Do I Edit or Update a Release?

Learn how to edit your song before submission, what changes are possible after submission, and how to request updates once a release has been delivered.

You can edit your release directly within My Music, depending on its current status.

Editing Before Submission

If your song has not yet been submitted, you can edit:

  • Song title

  • Display artist

  • Audio file

  • Artwork

  • Release date

  • Royalty splits

  • Metadata and Discovery information

To edit:

  1. Log in to your account.

  2. Go to My Music.

  3. Open the relevant track.

  4. Make your changes.

  5. Save or submit when ready.

You can update as many times as needed before submission.

After Submission to a Product

Once a song has been submitted to Distribution, Sync Representation or Publishing Administration:

  • Audio files cannot be changed.

  • Artwork cannot be changed.

This is because the track enters review and delivery processes.

If you need to change audio or artwork after submission, a takedown and re-upload may be required.

Metadata Changes After Submission

Some minor metadata updates may be possible depending on the status of the release.

If you need to request a change:

  • Contact support with your account email.

  • Include the track name.

  • Clearly state the change required.

Changes cannot be guaranteed once a release has been delivered to digital storefronts.

Important

Before submitting, always double-check:

  • Final master audio

  • Artwork specifications

  • Royalty splits

  • Release dates

Once submitted to a product, core assets such as audio and artwork are locked.

You can monitor the status of your release at any time within My Music.
