# What should I do if my upload on SoundCloud has been removed due to a copyright claim?

## A copyright claim is automatically generated when a song uploaded to SoundCloud matches audio in SoundCloud’s Content ID system.

As part of our distribution service, if you [opt into Content ID](https://help.musicgateway.com/what-is-content-id-how-do-i-opt-in?hsLang=en), your original content will be delivered to SoundCloud’s Content ID system to help protect your release.

If you need to whitelist a SoundCloud profile in order to upload your song, please contact distribution@musicgateway.com with the profile URL you want to whitelist, along with the song title and UPC code you are referring to. 

**Please note -** We advise against opting into Content ID for future releases if you plan to upload your own content to SoundCloud.
