Your First 7 Steps on Music Gateway

A step-by-step guide to getting started on Music Gateway, from booking an optional intro call and choosing your plan to setting up your artist profile and uploading your first release.

If you’re new to Music Gateway, here’s the recommended path to get started:

Step 1 – Create Your Account

Sign up using Google, Spotify, Facebook or email via www.musicgateway.com.

Once registered, you’ll be guided through the first stages of setting up your account.

Step 2 – (Optional) Book an Intro Call with Our Team

After signing up, you’ll have the option to book a short call with our A&R team.

This is completely optional, but many artists find it helpful when:

• Choosing the right subscription
• Planning their first release
• Understanding how distribution, promotion and sync differ
• Getting clarity on realistic next steps

We understand that getting started in music can feel overwhelming. If you’d prefer to speak to someone before moving forward, we’re happy to guide you.

You can also skip this step and continue setting up independently.

Step 3 – Choose Your Subscription Plan

Select the plan that best suits your release goals.

You can review features and compare plans on our pricing page before confirming.

Step 4 – Set Up Your Artist Profile

Before uploading music, you’ll need to create your artist profile.

You have two options:

If You Already Have Music on Spotify

Search for your artist name and we’ll pull in your existing Spotify profile details automatically. This helps ensure your future releases are linked correctly.

If You’re Releasing for the First Time

Simply enter your artist name manually. You can also add your Spotify URL later once your first release is live.

You can add additional artist profiles later if needed.

Step 5 – Prepare Your Release

Before uploading, make sure you have:

• Final mastered WAV files
• High-resolution artwork (minimum 3000 x 3000 pixels)
• Accurate track titles and metadata
• Confirmed songwriter and ownership splits
• Cleared samples (if applicable)

Incomplete or incorrect information can delay your release.

Step 6 – Upload Your Music

Upload your track(s) inside your dashboard and complete the required release details.

At this stage, you’ll:

• Enter metadata
• Confirm rights ownership
• Choose your release date

Take your time here. Accuracy avoids delays.

Step 7 – Submit and Monitor Performance

Once submitted and approved, your release will be delivered to selected platforms.

After your music goes live, you can:

• Track streaming performance
• Monitor royalty reporting
• Manage future releases
• Explore promotion or sync opportunities

Your dashboard becomes your central control point moving forward.
