Why do you need an ISRC and ISWC for sync?

An ISRC and ISWC are unique codes attached to a piece of music and enable usage tracking, especially for Performing Rights Organisations.

The ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) is attached to the audio file and links back to recording owners, whereas, the ISWC (International Standard Works Code) is attached to the Work composition and links back to songwriters/publishers.

Codes aren’t mandatory to submit to our catalogue but you might miss out on backend royalties without them. An ISRC and ISWC are a requirement for licensing opportunities on UK TV.
