What happens once my song has been approved?

The time it takes for your music to become available depends on when it is approved and whether you have selected a future release date. Each platform has its own processing and ingestion times, so approval by Music Gateway does not mean your release will be immediately live.

If a release date has not been selected:
Your release date will be the day your song is approved in the Music Gateway system. Once approved, we will deliver your music to your selected platforms. Spotify typically processes releases within 24-48 hours, while delivery to other platforms can typically take 3-5 business days. These are expected processing times rather than guaranteed timeframes, and can vary depending on the platform and whether any issues need to be resolved.

If a release date has been selected:
We recommend uploading your music at least 3-4 weeks before your planned release date, as noted here. This allows sufficient time for your release to be reviewed, approved, delivered and processed by the relevant platforms.

Submitting your music early helps ensure there is sufficient time for delivery and platform ingestion before your planned release date, including time to resolve any issues that may arise.
